This is a HUGE Trojan horse. Now that they’ve grabbed all this power, it remains in effect until the same people who imposed martial law decide to vote to repeal it – EVEN AFTER THE PANDEMIC IS OVER! Long after the virus is gone, if they want to move the climate change craziness forward, they could legally stop selling gasoline, or seize all non-electric cars. Have an electric car? They could force the electric company to give you free electricity to keep it charged. If they want to ban guns, they can. They can also confiscate them as well. Eventually, they’ll compensate you for what they stole, but I’m guessing they get to set the price. If Trump comes to give a rally and they don’t like it, they can arrest you for walking on the sidewalk if you try to attend. They may have used the pandemic pandemonium to get this through, but it can be used and reused for anything, virus related or not, and for as long as they deem they want to use it. Do you really trust the same people who pulled off this power grab to voluntarily give it up? Classic and sad example of the phrase, “I love my country, but fear my government”!

And, exactly like other colds, many people get it and never have any symptoms – their immune system controls it. And like all other colds, it is contagious. Over 20,000 people have died in the United States so far this calendar year (since January 1) from H1N1 type influenza. Including 136 children. But… that doesn’t matter. That’s… DIFFERENT. Riiiiiight. Youbetcha. In the ARSH 2016-2017 flu season in Italy, 25,000 people died of influenza, which was above average, but not unheard-of. But… that was different.
Viruses are contagious and “go around”. It is now being said that people are “asymptomatic carriers” for a MONTH BEFORE showing any symptoms of this type of cold. Therefore, if you leave the house you are literally Hitler killing old people. Um, do we see the irrationality of this?
Do we see how this insanity leads to no one being able to leave their home EVER EVER AGAIN because there is no way to know if you are a walking vector of death to the elderly? Even if testing were available, between the time you take the test and the time the results come back, you could have picked up this cold virus. Are we seeing what is going on here?

You NEVER want to consent to “martial law”, EVER! “Martial law” IS pure evil! IF Our government tries to control the movement of ALL Citizens, THEN “they” consider US subjects OR slaves. How is it….the flu with an annual record of killing over 11,000 US citizens goes unnoticed and the Coronavirus, with less than 50 US deaths causes panic in our government officials the likes of which have never been seen?
What is it about banning of fuel, firearms, liquor sales and seizing private property actually prevents the spread of the virus? Does the virus need these things to survive?

The greatest threat to my country isn’t the Coronavirus, it isn’t China or Russia; it’s the US government. Officials that have been elected to serve with distinction, that don’t, that can’t read the constitution, that don’t believe in our country: or that don’t believe in the rights of her citizens.

Many Issues, among them… banning sale of gasoline or other liquid flammable or combustible products in any container other than a gasoline tank permanently fixed to a motor vehicle… my backup generator uses gasoline or propane, which is more efficient. I can siphon gas from my vehicle but I can’t put propane in my gas tank to use in my generator. Also, directing shutoff of power, water, gas, etc… What kind of dictator are they creating?

Clearly much more is going on here, under the surface and in a local setting, than is revealed in this plainly unconstitutional and illegal proclamation. Governor Pritzker would be well advised to have the Illinois Attorney General or his General Counsel immediately seek a writ of mandamus on the City of Champaign officials immediately. By doing so, he could do something good for his own (official) benefit and that of the good citizens of Illinois.
