PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –

The former Citizens National Bank (now Dimond Bros Insurance) on the south side of the Courthouse square in Paris, Illinois has some apparent problems on its West side.

Paris City Code Enforcement Officer, Jamie Littleton, closed the alley between Dimond Bros Insurance and Pearman’s Pharmacy for fear of the wall’s structural safety.

Pearman’s Pharmacy drive-up window is located in the alley, and Pearman’s regrets it cannot use the drive-up window at this time, but ask their customers who must use drive-up service, to pull around back of the building and call, and they will come out to them.

The alley will remain closed until the problem is fixed, and according to Littleton, a structural engineer was brought in the evaluate the building and recommended certain work be performed on the outside wall.

Estimated timeframe for repairs is unknown at this time.
