Tiffany Henyard, Dolton, And Thornton Township Update –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On January 26, 2025

Dolton, Ill. (ECWd) –

The past week or so has proven that the self-professed “SuperMayor” Tiffany Henyard has lost all credibility and influence in Thornton Township and the Village of Dolton where she has ruled with a crooked iron fist for the past couple of years.

  • Henyard’s self-picked slate for the upcoming election was not considered during the Thornton Township Democratic Caucus and neither Henyard nor any of her slate will have their names printed on the upcoming ballot (see here).
  • Henyard filed a lawsuit against the caucus, that lawsuit was dismissed last week.
  • Henyard filed a lawsuit against the township trustees asking the court to force them to attend a township meeting (we believe this one is destined for failure also).
  • Henyard’s friends failed at the electoral board hearings when they challenged petitions and the caucus at that board
  • Having failed to appoint to a vacant trustee position, where Henyard continued to place the appointment on the meeting agendas, which caused the trustees not to attend, the Township Electors scheduled a meeting of the electors to elect a person to fill the vacancy.
  • That township meeting of the electors was held this past week in the community college in spite of Henyard’s demanding the college cancel the meeting due to the township’s lack of insurance, where a replacement was elected by the township voters, and it wasn’t Henyard’s pick for replacement.
  • Henyard indicated she would file a lawsuit over that meeting also (which we believe will fail).
  • Henyard was ordered by the court to sign and issue liquor licenses to a Dolton business who sued her for failing to issue those licenses. The Court gave her until 5pm last Thursday to sign and issue them.
  • Henyard violated the court’s order to issue those liquor licenses and was 30 minutes late to the Friday Court Hearing, where the court ordered her to sign those liquor licenses in open court.
  • The Court held Henyard in indirect criminal contempt (see here, here, and here), and gave her 7 days to tell the court why she should not be fined and/or imprisoned.
  • Henyard’s indirect criminal contempt hearing will be held in the next few days.
  • Henyard now occupies the minority position in both the Village of Dolton and Thornton Township with good trustees on both governments putting a stop to her illicit activities.
  • Lighfoot will release additional findings from her audit of Dolton finances tomorrow, January 27, 2025, during a village meeting at the Dolton Park District.

This is like watching an implosion in slow motion.
