Shelby Co. (ECWd) –
We first reported on Shelby County Corrections Officer Christopher Zakowski DUI arrest in this article. We have now obtained the arrest report and first want to thank the arresting officer for doing the very job he took an oath to perform. Officer Adam Jones recognized Zakowski as a Shelby County Corrections Officer when he made the stop and did not allow that to factor in during his investigation of the alleged crime. All too often we see officers provide cover for other people in the law enforcement/corrections occupations and that was not the case here.
Zakowski had a BAC of .141 and admitted to the use of Gabapentin, a drug commonly given for seizure prevention and neuropathic pain.
Rather than taking responsibility, Zakowski stated the arresting officer “..was ruining his life, causing him to likely lose his job”, “..could have let me get a ride.
His arrest was a result of another driver on the road that was almost struck by Zakowski who called 911 to report an alleged drunk driver.
Thank you to the Moweaqua Police Department!

Posted at 00:56h, 27 JuneI got onto an elevator with the public defender in shelby county and he smelled VERY strongly of alcohol. I guess it was a fact he drank everyday on the job for years till he passed away.
The previous maintenance worker at the jail drank on duty and drove around town drinking in his vehicle. I witnessed this all. I also witnessed him trying his hardest to get inmates to flip out as he drunkenly taunted them and called them names..it was seriously something i never thought i would witness but time and time again the low lifes of Shelby county never fail.
I learned all this because I was convicted of a felony i didnt even commit in Shleby County by Amanda Ades. After i was convicted and Amanda Ades lied along with the city cop Brachbill I was incarcerated in the county jail and was trustee and saw all this with my own eyes.
This is the epitome of what is wrong with the USA. These people all need fired and prosecuted. I will never have my life back after what they did to me. It is only fair they are punished for their crimes.

Posted at 17:33h, 26 JuneIt’s really great to hear about law enforcement officers that continue to do there jobs here in Illinois. DUI drivers recklessly take so many innocent lives of all ages: and just for their own personal self indulgence. Kudos to the Moweaqua Police Department.
