Channahon Park District strips Commissioners of free golf perks -

BY JOHN KRAFT & KIRK ALLEN

ON June 6, 2020

Will Co. (ECWd) -

In April we wrote an article detailing the illegal compensation received by Channahon Park District Commissioners (article here).

Earlier this week we were notified that the Park District had changed its policy, removing free golf passes for Commissioners.

Seven days after our April 13, 2020 article, and during its April 20, 2020 Board Meeting, the Commissioners approved a new policy, which did not include free golf passes for themselves.

We appreciate this Park District taking swift action to come into compliance with the law when it was pointed out to them.

Other Park Districts should take note, and amend their policies to prohibit any free/discounted things going to their Commissioners.

Their updated policy removed the language granting Commissioners free golf passes:

CHANNAHON PARK DIST 4.13 Use of Recreational Facilities and Programs
