Clark Co., IL. (ECWd) –
An Ethics Complaint was served on the Clark County Board Chairman today, and names Carrie Downey, the Clark County Clerk, as Defendant. (yes, she is the wife of the former Clark County Clerk that thinks it’s OK to issue voter registration cards to people that do not live at the address they “registered” to vote at – remember Bev?)
This Complaint is brought pursuant to [5 ILCS 430/] the State Officials and Employees Ethics Act.
The allegations listed include:
- Prohibited Political Activity
- Official Misconduct
- Violation of the Election Code
It involved Joe Ewing’s petition for election and the Clark County Park District’s Certification of Ballot, in which Downey allegedly instructed an employee of the park district to make substantial illegal changes to Ewing’s petitions and to make substantial illegal changes to the park district’s certification of the ballot.
The Clark County Ethics Commission will have to be activated to hold hearings on this signed and notarized Complaint
