Crest Hill, Ill. (ECWd) –
On March 2, 2026, the Treasurer of Crest Hill, Illinois attempted to get some answers on things residents had asked her about and things she found after digging into a “Crest Hill Events Committee” bank account.
Here are the allegations we know at this time:
- Alderwoman Tina Overland and Alderman Nate Albert were on the “Crest Hill Events Committee”
- According to FOIA responses, there are no meeting agendas nor meeting minutes for this committee of the City of Crest Hill
- According to FOIA responses, there are no known approvals for this committee to move the bank account to the credit union where the Alderwoman works
- The Alderwoman used her own home address and her own SSN on the bank account
- There were no approvals for loans
- As you can see from the below video, there were lengthy discussions designed to keep the Treasurer from continuing her presentation during this March 2026 City Council Meeting
- In the video below, Alderwoman Overland made numerous threats against the Treasurer for disseminating her “private” information to the city council members – we should note that the “private” information she speaks of was used to open the bank account and for public funds
- Check(s) made out to the city were deposited into the Events Committee bank account
- According to FOIA responses, the credit union told the FOIA officer the bank account information no longer existed, however, the Treasurer went to the credit union in person and obtained copies – which Alderwoman Overland insisted should not have been given to the Treasurer
- City Council has approved a “forensic audit” of this specific account
We are still unpacking the information we have received and will follow up in future articles.
