EDGAR CO. (ECWd) –
Just a note to say “Thank You” to all of our readers!
We passed the 500,000 page views milestone late-night on March 31, 2013.
On July 31, 2012, during our 1 year anniversary article, we were sitting at an average of 17,700 views per month and 197,000 views total.
In the past 8 months, our readership has more than doubled what it was last July:
Average per month since July 2012: 37,875
All-time: Over 500,000
That might not be alot of views for some websites, but for ours it is a milestone.
Thanks again,
The Edgar County Watchdog Team

Was Blind But Now I See
Posted at 22:14h, 01 AprilI am grateful for those who have stepped forward in an honest effort to “right the wrongs” in our local community. Dan Bruner has earned my greatest respect. He has shown there are still good people out there that are willing to stand up for what is right no matter the cost. I’m anxious to see if there are any more “real men” on this county board. I’d like to think there are a few.

Posted at 20:16h, 01 AprilNo, it’s not the inept but harmless Sgt. Schultz. Instead, it’s the all too familiar refrain from those in this city and county who are manipulated by the network. The time is coming when amnesia won’t serve them so well. What do we know, or thought we knew, about the Eiffel Tower and its significance and relevance to modern day Paris ?

And what mushroom out from that. We never were on this site till that happened. Now we check out ECWD daily. Did you ever find out anymore re the money Patrick and Wells did not disclose?

Posted at 14:01h, 01 AprilThanks,
We do have some type of confirnmation on the check, but we want to verify it before we write an article. From all appearances, the check was written to IDOT Aeronautics Division? but we do not know what it was for, and we will verify that it actually went there.
No information on the CD yet – I say yet bcause we will eventually get the info, either through voluntary disclosure or thru another FOIA lawsuit.
Evil Flourishes When Good Men Say Nothing
Posted at 12:18h, 01 AprilCongratulations! Your site should be required reading for everyone in this county!
For too many years, the status quo of control and manipulation of Edgar County citizens, by a network of politically and financially connected, has gone unchallenged. Financial control via under the table banking, loan and real estate deals, corrupted public & private board actions, as well as unfair application of the law, all serve the connected few and cause harm to the remainder of the community. Everything that has any potential to affect REAL change, goes through the network, or a portion thereof. They will never give up the control, even for the betterment of the community as a whole, unless there’s something in it for them. And, if they can’t control it, they don’t want it. How about the discussion to affect / influence the start-up minimum wage at North American Lighting, and other manufacturers, so as to keep a viable renters population in the “elite’s” housing? The “connected” landlords would rather see the workforce burdened under a lower wage scale, soley to keep those workers who would rent, in the landlord’s Paris area rentals. If the workers were to earn “too much”, the workers would no longer need the landlords’ housing and would, instead, chose to buy homes or live out of county and commute. So what if it would generate higher property tax revenues and increased retail spending which would result in community improvement, and more jobs. Overall community growth would be nice, but not if the network can’t control it and reap the benefits from it. It’s a dirty little secret and a prime example of how the elite maintain control, to the detriment of all. I guess it’s not such a secret, anymore. I could go on, but suffice it to say, be very suspicious of anyone who says “things are fine they way they are. We don’t need anyone coming in here and stirring up things.” When a person is in control, or has something to gain from those who are in control, they do not want change. And, they will villify anyone who challenges their little system of greed. Don’t be fooled. Beware of those who offer you something. If they’re part of the network, they’ll be back…wanting you to vote a certain way, to be on a board and represent a certain point of view, or support someone else’s point of view who’s in their pocket. Demand appropriate change, stand up for what’s right, moral and ethical. And demand that those who are supposed to represent you do the same! If you don’t, you’re only allowing the corruption to continue.
Remember, you can affect REAL change!
