Mattoon, Il. (ECWd) –
According to the girl’s father, after an 11-year-old girl posted a photo of herself sitting with some doves she harvested on a recent family hunting trip, an employee at the Mattoon School District thought it was a good idea to wish death upon her, by posting “I hope you die soon little girl” in response to the photo.
The girl did record a video response to Rebecca Coon (watch it HERE).

Rebecca Coon, is currently an employee of the Mattoon School District and works as a “Payroll and Insurance Secretary” with the district staff.
Coon has since made her Facebook profile private, and we are unaware of any apologies at this time.
The school superintendent is aware of this and is looking into various options available.
This is unacceptable for any adult, let alone a school employee wishing death upon an 11-year-old girl for going hunting.
Termination of employment appears to be the only option, in our opinion.

Firing is the bare minimum that should happen to this woman. Charges should be filed for terroristic threats against this child. Not only should she not be connected to a school district in any way at all, she should be in jail! A statement like that is pure evil and an indication of a propensity for violence.
A school district employee that “WISHES DEATH” on a young child because this school employee should absolutely be terminated immediately! Threatening a small child is inexcusable for any reason whatsoever!
I hope and pray she is fired and everyone black list her from getting any other job in the area or schools for that matter. I pray for Karma comes for her 100 fold. Charges need to be filed if possible. What type of person wishes death apon a child for any reason……..
She absolutely should be terminated. But, depending on if the district has a social media policy…terminating her based solely on the comment on Facebook opens the district up to a first amendment lawsuit. Hopefully, she will be terminated…but as recent history has shown that may not be possible.
I do not understand why she still has a job with the school district. She publicly wished death upon a child. There is nothing to think about, period. She should have been terminated immediately, nothing to think about, no questions asked!!!

I don’t care where this person works, this is beyond inappropriate- this is a narcissistic, self righteous individual that has no morals and no value to human life.
I truly hope she looses her job,, such a pathetic person
