Chicago, IL. (ECWd) –
In a move we suspect should be overturned on appeal or otherwise disposed of as what we consider an improper prior restraint on speech, a Cook County Judge ordered John Catanzara, president of Chicago’s largest police union, to stop speaking about or otherwise encouraging union members to defy Mayor Lightfoot’s vaccine mandate.
The Block Club Chicago reported on the lawsuit filed by the city of Chicago against Catanzara and the union for encouraging strikes or work stoppages over the vaccine mandate.
On Thursday, Catanzara and the union filed suit against the city of Chicago, its police department, and Mayor Lightfoot (read it here) alleging defendants refused to participate in interest arbitration and mid-term interest arbitration through their imposition of a unilateral change imposing new terms and conditions of employment (vaccine mandate) without completing collective bargaining negotiations.
According to the Complaint, Plaintiffs are asking the Court to:
- Declare they have a right to maintain the status quo and to prevent unilateral changes of its collective bargaining agreement pending arbitration of a grievance filed to protest Defendants” unilateral changes
- Restrain Defendants from failing or refusing to perform their obligations under the agreement
- Compel Defendants to proceed to an expedited arbitration on the grievances
- Other relief as appropriate
After the Order, Catanzara published a video on YouTube about the restraint on his speech and held up a sign indicating he would run for Mayor of Chicago in 2023. Watch it HERE.

Posted at 08:08h, 18 OctoberAgree with you Mike. We would never know we were in a so called pandemic if we did not have the barrage of 24/7 propaganda media and the corrupt politicians using it for their own power and control.
This has never been about a virus or health/safety – it is about them having total control over us.

Posted at 22:12h, 17 OctoberSometimes it’s hard to read these comments. People are ignorant and they don’t seem to care about facts. Covid is over 99% survivable. There is absolutely no reason to ask people to give up their rights when there is no overwhelming risk to the public. If this sickness was killing 25% of the people who contracted it I would agree with a mandate. If you are in poor health then by all means quarantine yourself until your safety is assured, but stay out of my healthcare decisions. My body, my choice…right!

re-negotiate the contract…..stick with the contract…..

Posted at 17:07h, 17 OctoberThank you Kirk for setting the record straight. There is no difference between the vaxxed or unvaxxed because both apparently can infect people.
Although the SARS-COV2 has apparently never been isolated or purified so some believe that they replaced influenza with COVID. Therefore this has all been a plandemic.

Posted at 17:51h, 17 OctoberThe influenza data shell game is only the beginning.
“Genevieve Briand, assistant program director of the Applied Economics master’s degree program at Johns Hopkins University, recently critically analyzed the effect of COVID-19 on U.S. deaths using data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in her webinar titled “COVID-19 Deaths: A Look at U.S. Data.” Her conclusion? COVID-19 is having no significant impact on deaths in the United States.
Briand explained that the significance of COVID-19 on U.S. deaths can be fully understood only through comparison to the number of total deaths in the United States. Briand conducted a detailed review of the available data, relying upon the exact same numbers CDC uses in its calculations. Specifically, she delved deeply into the causes of death listed. While deaths attributed to COVID-19 dramatically increased, deaths attributed to all other causes suddenly plummeted. Most notable perhaps was the decrease in deaths attributed to heart disease. Somehow, suddenly, according to the data, in the midst of worldwide pandemic, Americans were much less likely to have heart attacks or strokes. The same held true for deaths from diabetes, respiratory ailments, Alzheimer’s and every other disease that had plagued the United States for a generation. And, miraculously, the decrease in deaths from all other causes seemed to match almost exactly the number of deaths reported to be attributable to COVID-19.” – Charles Faddis

Posted at 16:53h, 17 OctoberAs time passes the old stale argument of take one for the team and everyone will be safer if you do ypur part falls on its face due to empirical data. In most of the states I travel in i find fewer and fewer individuals wearing masks and more and more individuals having had covid with very few side effects.
It is only in a select few states which are strangely coincidentially controlled by democratic governors that continue with the persistent drum beat of wear your mask and a push for mandatory vaccinations.
My guess is as their elections get close they will slowly stop with the scare tactics too.

Posted at 15:03h, 17 OctoberPolice are to protect the public – I don’t understand why they don’t want to protect themselves by being vaccinated. I can only assume the guy who is encouraging them to defy the vaccination wants to “make a name for himself” and has high asperations in politics.

Posted at 21:14h, 20 OctoberWhat if these officers had the virus and now have antibodies?
Some health conditions like blood clots are not advised for the vaccine.
The city is wanting these officers to allow the city full access to their health records, not just the vaccine. The same thing happened to me when I got hurt on the job at IDOT. I refused to sign off on letting them see my complete health record, Just records that pertained to my on the job injury. The courts will settle this and the mayor can pay these officers back pay. She hates the CPD and the CPD has no use for her!

Posted at 16:39h, 17 OctoberAt this juncture, a fair question might be: How does natural immunity factor into policy making decisions that impact yesterday’s celebrated front line workers (often referred to as hero’s) of Cook County, Illinois?
