Madison Co., Ill. (ECWd) –
This week, the Illinois State Board of Elections (“ISBE”) denied Madison County Board Chairman Chris Slusser’s Motion to Reconsider the board’s earlier determination that a complaint filed against Slusser was, in part, filed on justifiable grounds, sending that portion of the complaint to a public hearing. Video of this week’s ISBE meeting is below.
Next steps are discovery and scheduling the public hearing.
The original complaint consisted of allegations that Slusser received donations from 10 PACs totaling around $50,000, and that all the PACs were recently formed, and that letters sent to those PACs were returned undeliverable. Original Complaint, Evidence, D4 Complaint, Election Board Order On Complaint.
