MARSHALL, IL. (ECWd) –
Clark County Judge Tracy W. Resch determined that probable cause was found in the felony case against Ronald Wells of Dennison, Illinois.
On March 5, 2018, defendant appeared in custody and a probable case hearing was held in the Clark County Illinois Circuit Court. During testimony, Clark County Sheriff Deputy Jeremiah Hanley testified about what was found during the investigation, and that Department of Children and Family Services was notified last October by Marshall schools.
He also testified that the abuse started when the girl was 12 years old and happened when she would spend the night as Wells’ house on the occasional weekend.
Wells pled Not Guilty and requested a jury trial.
Judge Resch found probably cause, set a pretrial conference for April 23rd at 9:00 a.m. and a jury trial on May 8th at 8:00 a.m.
