Champaign Co., Ill. (ECWd) –
There has been considerable discussion on the amount of noise produced by solar farms, and a proposed solar farm project in Vermilion County.
According to one person who attended a meeting where solar farm noise was discussed:
“Solar farms produce noise. The solar farm promoters in Champaign County told the zoning board that this is “like living next to a cemetery.” When I asked if it was really like living next to a cemetery, the same developer said they would keep the noise below the maximum allowable noise levels allowed in the State of Illinois.“
The below video from the University of Illinois’ Solar Farm was taken within the past couple of days in the Vermilion County, Illinois, area – would you want to live next to this noise 24-7?

I do agree its one thing when its there you hear it and decide to buy the place, its another when they just put one in close to you and tell you to deal with it. which in the case of wind and solar is often times what hapens.
