Kankakee County Board Member Resigns After Lawsuit Seeking His Removal –

Kankakee, Ill. (ECWd) –

Kankakee County Board Member Chris Tholen has apparently resigned from office after a lawsuit seeking his removal was filed.

The lawsuit filed by the State’s Attorney alleged Tholen failed to file his mandated Statement of Economic Interest, even after timely notices were given.

The Kankakee County website currently lists District 10 as “vacant” – it was the district Tholen represented, and the county clerk indicated to us that Tholen submitted his resignation to the county board chairman.

Also included in lawsuits for the same reason are Leonora Noble, an Alderwoman in Kankakee, and Leo Todd Clark, an Alderman in Momence. Both names are still listed on their respective websites.

A court hearing is scheduled for June 30, 2025.

Shocking that anyone left out this form. Who would benefit from their county financially without admitting it? The AG should prosecute anyone for double or triple dipping. NOT in SHELBY COUNTY!!
