We reported yesterday on the arrest of the Nason, Illinois, Mayor Michelle McKinney, being arrested, muzzled, and stuffed in this article.
According to local reporting from the Southern Illinois Watchdogs, Sheriff Jeff Ballard released a statement that confirmed the arrest. He indicated it was for possessing a stolen vehicle and obstruction of justice.
There was no indication regarding how McKinney came into possession of the vehicle.
We have sent a Freedom of Information Act request to the Sheriff for McKinney’s mug shot, search warrants issued, and all other charging and processing documents they have. We will update when we get a response to that request.
