Caseyville Votes To Release Audio Recording After Allegations Of Unlawful Closed Session –

Caseyville, Ill. (ECWd) –

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Caseyville voted to release the audio recording and minutes of its July 3, 2024, closed session meeting.

This came after the village failed to respond to complaints to the Illinois Attorney General’s Public Access Counselor alleging the village violated the Open Meetings Act by entering into closed session and discussing issues in closed session that were not a permitted exception to open meeting discussions.
