Village of Dolton Lawyer Files Motion To Withdraw Representation In FOIA Lawsuit

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On April 26, 2024

Cook Co. (ECWd) –

The Village of Dolton’s legal representative, Del Galdo Law Group, LLC, has filed a motion to withdraw citing Supreme Court Rule 1.16(a)(6).

1.16(a)(6) -(a) Except as stated in paragraph (c), a lawyer shall not represent a client or, where representation has commenced, shall withdraw from the representation of a client if:
(6) the representation will result in an unreasonable financial burden on the lawyer or has been rendered unreasonably difficult by the client; (emphasis added)

Considering the rule cited we wonder if Henyard has refused to pay the legal bills created from the numerous FOIA lawsuits the Village faces or if she has determined the lawyers demanding the law be followed constitute them being unreasonably difficult.

Included in the motion was a request for an extension of time to answer one of our Freedom of Information Act lawsuits.

In light of all the negative press Mayor Tiffany Henyard has brought upon herself it may be difficult for the Village to find competent legal counsel willing to represent them.

We will continue to update on this matter as it moves through the court.

Delgado has found a way out. It was just a matter of time before that firm found itself entangled in the feces they helped create.

The second emphasized portion of the rule actually means the representation has become unreasonably difficult for the attorney, not that the client deems counsel to be too difficult to work with (although I’m sure she does).

Given the plethora of controversial decisions and myriad of missteps enacted by Dolton Mayor, Tiffany He yard, it’s disturbing why the city’s attorney didn’t submit his resignation far, far earlier.

I’m not so sure the courts should oblige his request to withdraw legal representation given his entrenched involvement and connection to the city and ( township ) of Dolton municipal operations. The attorneys decision to abstain representation at the eleventh hour is suspect indeed

Over the past months watching this whole Peyton place season unfold, one would think the mayor would just go ahead and resign. I don’t understand how someone cannot envision themselves behind bars with all of the shenanigans being discovered that she has been involved with. I imagine her cronies will be going down with her. So far Donald Trump has been the Teflon Don, but Henyard is not Teflon! But she is a slippery fish! Just not a very accomplished one. And as we know, the fish rots from the head, and she absolutely is the head of this fish. I remember my boss used to say “never get on the front page” another one was, ‘you’ve got to quit digging that hole you’re in.” Maybe the mayor never received that memo, or, is just looking for security, a roof over her head and three squares a day. I suppose the taxpayers will pick that up! Even if the taxpayers IE people win, they lose!

Mayor Henyard should be held accountable for her actions just as well as anyone else. Withholding receipts/records for proof of state funds. She needs to be ousted immediately!

What does it take to get rid of this person. She clearly has no respect for the public trust. She she’s her position as having hit the jackpot at a casino, and is now drunk with power. She velongs in jail.

Why is this chamberpot dictator allowed to sit in office? Clearly, nobody in Dolton ever voted for her… back up the prison bus and haul her off in irons. This is a cynical evil demon who is raping her town, both figuratively and literally.

It’s either a slow news day or queen Tiffany is getting her due attention. FOX News reported on the withdrawal of legal counsel due to lack of payment for services.
