Sangamon Co. (ECWd) –
We covered the proposed legislation to mandate Illinois follow the vehicle emissions rules established in California in this article.
The committee was scheduled to hear the bill late yesterday afternoon. As outlined in the previous article, the witness slips opposing this legislation were over 20 times that of those in support of the bill.
We were informed late yesterday afternoon that the committee hearing was canceled. While we do not know the real reason for the cancelation, the rumblings in Springfield indicated this legislation was the talk of the Captial and not in a positive light. There does not appear to be any future hearing date set according to the calendar at this link.
After the publication of yesterday’s article, we now see that there are 3,264 opponents of the bill and a whopping 134 in support. (Witness slip information)
We will continue to monitor this legislation and do our best to update future movement of the legislation.

Posted at 20:03h, 21 FebruaryAny legislation supported by Reps Yang-Rohr or Stava-Murray (Naperville and Downers Grove areas) are sure to be extreme. Look at Stava-Murray’s HB4876 which would make parents child abusers if they don’t allow their children to receive ‘gender affirming’ treatment,
