On December 29, 2023

Paris, Ill. (ECWd) –

Acting District 95 Superintendent Bailey sent the following email out this evening:

There was a special board meeting this evening at 5:00 p.m.  The following action was taken:

  1. The Board accepted the resignation of Jaime Larson as an elementary teacher effective December 31, 2023.  Administration has been working with Megan Carroll to fill this position for the remainder of the year.
  2. The Board approved a mutual separation agreement between the Board of Education and Dr. Jeremy Larson effective December 31, 2023.
  3. The following announcements were made:
    • The Board will immediately begin its search for a new superintendent with the expected start date to be no later than July 1, 2024.  The district will be working with The Illinois Association of School Boards (IASB) to assist in the search to make sure we are getting the best possible candidate.
    • In the meantime, Lorraine Bailey will remain as acting superintendent with the assistance of Connie Sutton and Carol Jones.
    • The District is on target with its Corrective Action Plans and payback plans with the state and will continue to keep the public updated as we have information to share.

Of course, the “usual suspects” will remain in charge of the district and the search for a new supe.

A separation agreement should never include further payments if a crime has been committed. That makes no sense at all and rips off the taxpayers.

I certainly hope that Larson’s contract is completed, and if it is not, that the board has not allowed the tax payers to be on the hook for paying him for…severance, balance of contract, or ANY compensation whatsoever.
