On October 8, 2023

Chicago, Ill. (ECWd) –

Once again, former Lincoln-Way School District Superintendent Lawrence Wyllie’s federal criminal trial is delayed due to his current and ongoing medical condition(s).

He is still collecting more than $350,000 per year in retirement benefits (according to the Chicago Tribune).

He was initially indicted by a federal grand jury on September 13, 2017, in a six-count indictment, including allegations of embezzlement, conducting wire transactions for misappropriation of school district funds, wire transactions to pay vendor of SuperDog, wire transaction to pay vendor B, wire transactions to pay vendor A, and a wire transaction of more than $403,000.00.

We wrote about these and other issues as we obtained the public records, which uncovered his alleged misdeeds, leading up to the grand jury indictment. Read the articles (here).

Mr. Wylie is represented by one of the best criminal defense lawyers in Chicago. After 6 years we can all assume this case never goes to trial; but mind you, Mr. Wylie could survive yet another 6 years or more. I believe Mr. Wylie asserts that he’s innocent. So, one would think he’d crawl to the Federal Court House to clear his name.
