Calumet City, IL. (ECWd) –
Dolton School District 149 Board of Trustees published a meeting agenda of a remote meeting for 6:00 p.m. on Monday, November 21, 2022, via Zoom only (no physical meeting location).
There is no longer a legitimate health emergency necessitating remote meetings and this has the appearance of the board simply doing this to avoid public scrutiny should they hold an in-person meeting.
Two agenda items include removal of the Board Secretary for “failure to perform duties” and Censure of Board Secretary for “Violation of Board of Education Policy.”
They also plan on going forwards with appointing a new board member for the alleged vacancy of Rhayya Ghani (they improperly removed her from office without statutory authority).
We presume the removal and censure of the Board Secretary stems from her taking accurate minutes despite the board attorney, Edward James Wong III, of Del Galdo Law Group, wrongly attempting to direct her to take inaccurate minutes during the November 16, 2022, board meeting (see below video). School Board attorneys have no authority in a meeting.
