Shelby Co. (ECWd) –
The Shelby County Board voted to rescind the “Ambulance Standard of Care” ordinance that was adopted during last month’s meeting. We covered its passage and explained all the reasons it needed to be rescinded in articles here and here.
We were pleased to see the number of professional EMS providers that spoke up during the meeting in support of rescinding the policy to include a Doctor from Effingham. The Commander of the Shelby County Dive Team also called for its reversal and actually read the very statute we published in our first article explaining that what the board had adopted violated the law. Had the board read the law rather than listen to the lies from the EMA Director Troy Agney during the prior meeting, the turmoil stirred up county-wide by its adoption could have been avoided.
All but two board members voted to rescind the policy. David Swits and Dennis Drnjevic vote to leave the policy in place.
The video below is of the entire meeting. We will be publishing numerous articles on the events of last night’s meeting as once again, after the meeting, more truth got exposed which conflicts with what board members claimed during the meeting.
