Chicago, IL. (ECWd) –
Last fall, we were named in a federal lawsuit by a plaintiff from Florida who was unhappy about our truthful articles.
This Illinois lawsuit came after we filed suit in the Federal Middle District of Florida against her.
After due diligence, we filed our Motion for Summary Judgment in Illinois yesterday using the Illinois Citizens Participation Act (“CPA”) or the Anti-SLAPP law (Strategic Lawsuit Against Public Participation), asking for judgment in our favor and for Plaintiff to pay our legal fees for bringing this lawsuit against us.
We were accused of various things, none of them with any shred of truth, as you can read in the below court filings.
The 56-1 Statement of Facts and the Memorandum in Support of MTD support the Motion to Dismiss.
You can read them below by clicking on each item.
