ECWd Sued Frankfort Police Department Over Public Records Denial –

Frankfort, IL. (ECWd) –

Last December, we filed a Freedom of Information Act request for public records of the Frankfort Police Department, seeking police reports, incident reports, and any other reports for an address on Holland Harbor Drive (alleged home of a state politician).

We also asked for copies of 911 calls, and names of the officers and medical personnel who responded to that address anytime in June 2021.

The Frankfort, Illinois police department denied the majority of the request, including redacting entire pages of reports.

Their denial was based on their police department’s “guidelines” and not on appropriate FOIA exemptions.

They will now answer to the courts.
