CHAMPAIGN, IL. (ECWd) –
On October 22, 2021, at approximately 1:50 p.m., on Route 130, north of Route 133, a University of Illinois’ assigned vehicle U-9148 was spotted driving at a high rate of speed.
It was moving between 80 and 85 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone – 25-30 miles per hour over the speed limit.
When asked, the University of Illinois could not find anything indicating who was driving the vehicle or why it was on that road, let alone why it was traveling at such a high rate of speed.
We looked up the license plate number in our online database of government vehicles: www.govplates.com – it is free for people to use and was featured by Doug Wolfe, WAND-TV’s I-TEAM in 2017 (HERE).

Posted at 10:24h, 28 OctoberYou see a state vehicle speeding like that call the Illinois State Police and report it!
Then there will be a record of the event.,
On any week day at least a hundred state plated cars and trucks North bound on I 57 headed to Chicago. A white Chevrolet with U plates seen every day West bound from Decatur at well above the speed limit. Blonde female driver. Do not hesitate to report them, Same for vehicles at bars, restaurants, grocery stores.
