Rule To Show Cause Granted Against Wesley Township –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On July 26, 2021

Wesley Township, IL. (ECWd) –

In Court this morning was a Motion for Rule to Show Cause as to why Wesley Township should not be held in contempt of court.

This arises from the long-running Freedom Of Information Act lawsuit against the township and township road district for their alleged failures to comply with the FOIA.

On July 1st, the Court ordered Wesley Township to provide an Affidavit of Completeness and amend their Answers to Interrogatories, within 14 days.

The township failed to comply with the Order.

Today’s hearing was on a Rule to Show Cause as to why Wesley Township should not be held in contempt of court for failing to comply with the July 1, 2021, Order.

The Court granted the Motion for Rule to Show Cause, and a hearing date will be forthcoming.
