Shelby County – State’s Attorney Statement To The Board Conflicts with Actual Record- Part II

Shelby Co., IL. (ECWd) –

We first outlined the false statement by the Shelby County State’s Attorney Nichole Kroncke in this article. Unfortunately, this article needed to run due to yet another statement made to the board that conflicts with the written record.

After the vote for the two farm lease resolutions failed, Kroncke injected herself into the discussion and stated:

“Well, I’ll just say it passed unanimously at the farm committee and I really don’t know what happen between then and now.”

We spoke with two farm committee members and asked for a copy of the minutes. Turns out Kroncke’s statement about a unanimous vote is not what the records reflect. The minutes reflect no vote being taken. Even after being corrected on her statement during the meeting, she said it was recorded, people can listen. The two board members I spoke with confirmed they did not vote on the lease agreements.

I have requested any audio from that meeting and according to the County Clerk, no audio has been provided to her, only minutes. The minutes clearly conflict with the claim there was a unanimous vote.

We find it strange that the legal counsel for the board would inject her comments on a matter decided by the board, especially when the record conflicts with the comment.

A copy of the minutes can be downloaded at this link or viewed below.

Yeah, I’m tired/bored/done with this. We’ll just say whatever gets this matter off my desk and onto someone else’s. I get other people’s work left with my on a regular basis. Lazy. I hand it back. Yeah, some things take forever, but this is an example of how NOT to handle it.

It seems like the SA may be intent have proceeds from the poor farm fund the SA’s office.
