PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –
After the March 24, 2020 Edgar County Board Special meeting, and following our reporting of the Edgar County Sheriff Administrative Assistant, Jamie Trogdon’s, alleged fudging of time cards (which Sheriff Wood claims “it’s not like we all haven’t fudged our time sheets from time to time“) and other work-related issues, she was placed on unpaid administrative leave, and later terminated from the department, according to officials.
We also suggested that Sheriff Jeff Wood be held to account for his actions/inactions related to time cards in this article. We still urge him to resign from office.
The Illinois State’s Attorney Appellate Prosecutor (“ILSAAP”) has the completed report, which was submitted to them alleging more than $15,000 is at issue with suggested charges of: Official Misconduct, Theft of Governmental Funding (Between $10,000-$100,000), and Retirement Fraud – based upon the money received being pensionable income.
Jamie Trogdon-Sturgell was hired in 2015 on the recommendation of the interview committee consisting of Nancy Zeman (Prairie Press) and Nanette Crippes (Edgar County 911).
***As a reminder, all people are presumed innocent unless and until found guilty in a court of law.
Here is Trogdon’s recorded interview with the Paris Police Detective:

Posted at 11:11h, 30 MarchOnce again, problems with the Edgar County Sheriff. It appears, Sheriff Jeff Wood doesn’t know the Sheriff’s Department Employment Policies or the Edgar County Employment Policies. State laws too.
Not to mention…..that he fails to perform basic management functions such as holding those accountable and assuming responsibility for his work. Does he even know what’s going on in his office? Many say not. Is he going to resign? One hopes.
Then add, that he wrongfully advises/allows/approves employee(s) to receive pay for not working. Is all this out of ignorance or something else? What sheriff does that?
Since the issue of the day is the receipt of pay for not working…one could ask, when will Sheriff Jeff Wood follow up with his friends and arrest those responsible for the firebombing of aircraft at the Edgar County Airport?

Posted at 22:39h, 01 AprilMy first thought was, if I heard her correctly in her interview, WHAT!? Is she going out on drug buys? If so what does she do on those buys besides just being there as another female? Is she serving as a jailer when she helps “dress out” female inmates? In what capacity is she supposed to be serving? I thought she was an “administrative assistant” to the sheriff? Is she performing deputy duties? Does the law ok her to do these jobs? What if she gets hurt or injured while doing these jobs? Will the county’s insurance pay for her medical? What if she gets hurt and sues for either compensatory OR punitive damages? Will the county insurance pay for that? Does she even have a written job description? Are her jobs in violation of that description? Oh, wait a minute, I bet there isn’t a written job description cause he told the paris cop that his directions to her were verbal or what he told her. After watching the interview video, I had to seriously ask if maybe she WAS just doing what the sheriff told her she could do. Of course, we don’t know everything the Paris Police officer knows. What a shit show.
