Dale Colter appeared in Court, pled not guilty –

Paris, IL. (ECWd) –

Dale Colter had a court appearance today in Edgar County.

According to the court docket, Edgar County State’s Attorney Mark Isaf and Defense Attorney Bruce Baber were present.

Probable Cause was found and a Not Guilty plea was entered with a demand for jury trial.

Pretrial Conference scheduled for April 9, 2020 at 9:00 a.m., Defendant is ordered to appear.

Colter is accused of theft from the Vermilion Fire Department, Paris Fire Protection District:

From the charging instrument:

. . .On or about various dates in 2018 and 2019 within the County of Edgar, State of Illinois, committed the offense of THEFT. In that the said defendant knowingly exerted unauthorized control over property of the Paris Community Fire Protection District, and the Defendant used the property, knowing such use probably would deprive the owner permanently of such use or benefit, in that he utilized the Paris Community Fire Protection District’s Illini F.S. fuel card for personal use in excess of $500.00, not exceeding $10,000.00.
