Champaign County, feature, IL, Longview

Longview swears in new Village Trustee

BY JOHN KRAFT & KIRK ALLEN

ON August 29, 2019

Longview, IL. (ECWd) -

Longview, Illinois is a small village with a population of 153 (according to the 2010 census) and is located in Champaign County, Illinois.

During last night's special board meeting, a new trustee was sworn in after a trustee resigned earlier this month.

Recently, Longview board meetings have been contentious, with members walking out during meetings.

We suggest the village trustees read up on the Open Meetings Act, in particular, the requirement that only items listed on the agenda be discussed or acted on during special board meetings.
