DuPage Co. (ECWd) –
A local resident of District 200 has taken appropriate steps to hold the School Board accountable to the law.
Jan Shaw, the founder of “DuPage Watchdog“, a local government accountability organization, filed a verified complaint for Declaratory Judgement, Mandamus, and Injunctive Relief against the District 200 School Board today. You can see her Press Release at this link.
Back in March of this year, we published this article pertaining to the School District 200’s intentions to build a new school in spite of the majority of voters shooting down multiple referendums in their attempts to move forward with building a new school.
It appears the facts laid out in our article as well as Shaw’s multiple articles on this matter have fallen on deaf ears. The School Board is moving forward against the will of the people and in contradiction to the law, in our opinion, and that of multiple other attorneys
We are pleased to see our information is shared as part of the exhibits to support the allegations in the complaint.

Posted at 22:49h, 07 AugustJanet Shaw should also request the court to preliminarily and permanently enjoin the board and the superintendent from authorizing payment of any attorney’s fees to defend their deceitful, duplicitous and deliberately deceptive actions. The voters told them in 2013 and again in 2017 not to do this. They cooked this mess up-let them pay the attorneys fees personally to defend their actions. The judge should prohibit any attorney paid for with tax dollars from filing an appearance or vacate any appearance already filed. The taxpayers should not have to pay legal fees for this nonsense.
