OEIG Punts complaint on Gov. Rauner Administration –

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On April 9, 2018

Illinois (ECWd) –

In March we filed an OEIG Complaint regarding Governor Rauner and his administration for alleged ethics violations.  A couple weeks later the OEIG’s response appeared cryptic, as the language gave no assurance anything was going to be investigated.

Today I received another letter from the OIEG and now they have punted the complaint to the Illinois Auditor General Inspector General.

“The Office of Executive Inspector General (OEIG) has received and reviewed your complaint, and has determined that it is more appropriate for your allegations to be addressed by the Auditor General Inspector General.”

Why is Illinois Doomed?

We have a Governor who has stayed silent since day one regarding our Auditor General Frank Mautino who invoked his 5th amendment rights in the State Board of Elections complaint, who also is, or was, under criminal investigation by the US Attorney’s office.  The Governor’s silence on the inappropriate spending by the Frank Mautino campaign actually speaks volumes to people in this state.

The Governor had no problem lying to his constitutions about the abortion bill he signed into law.  The Governor had no problem lying about his opponent during the recent primary election.  The Governor had no problem lying to us about setting up a public corruption task force if he were to be elected, which he was and we still have no such task force and people in this state know, public corruption is out of control from the top down.

And now, complaints to the Office of Executive Inspector General for actions of personnel working for the Governor are punted to the Inspector General in the office of Auditor General Frank Mautino?

With no explanation as to why they felt the Auditor General IG was a better fit, we are left to wonder if this is yet another two-step shuffle we are so familiar with in the State of Illinois.

I firmly believe this state is doomed without some type of outside intervention from the Federal Government.  This same complaint was included in a complaint to the US Department of Justice and to date we have heard nothing from them either.

If and when we ever get any information pertaining to our complaint we will update accordingly.

It’s really just a horserace now between Illinois and California. But when we get a Gov. Pritzker, joined with Madigan and Cullerton, it’ll be a trifecta in a perfect storm. Illinois should then be able to spurt ahead and take it. J. B. might even be able to make Moonbeam look like a modern day Calvin Coolidge.

The state of Illinois govt is nothing short of Organized Crime. Its time to storm the Kremlin in Springfield.
