Eastern Illinois University – 7,030 Students

From 82-85 there were more than 11,000 students on campus and I believe one year there was 12,000 at EIU. A friend that has been in college academia for more than 25 years predicted the distance learning model would effectively kill the campus experience second only to the education product. They felt with distance learning it was squeezing the quality of the students work and virtually impossible to know who is doing the work.

When my son attended there, in the early ’90s, there were 10,000 students.

So, how much of a decline is this from prior years?
