Paris Area Chamber of Commerce President Arrested for DWI –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On March 14, 2017

PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –

Randy Peterson, the current President of the Board of the Paris Area Chamber of Commerce was arrested on March 5, 2017, in Clinton, Indiana on the charge of Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated.

According to a Clinton, Indiana newspaper clip we were sent, he was pulled over by Clinton Police Officer Dustin Wall at 3:40 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 5, 2017. His Blood-Alcohol-Content (“BAC”) registered at .203 which is more than 2 and 1/2 times the legal limit – taken to the Vermillion County Indiana Jail and released after posting $9,000.00 bond.

This is not his first DUI, but it appears he gets drunker on every one: Past article located here.

Let’s hope he doesn’t kill someone, or worse, an entire family, the next time he thinks his “alleged” drunk driving is more important than the lives of our children, mothers and fathers, and grandparents who may have the misfortune to confront a drunk on the roads.

This is unacceptable.

We are working on obtaining the charge sheet and mug shot from the Vermillion County Sheriff’s department and will update it when available.

his history now has all the EARMARKS of alcoholism, “inability to respond to the common sense, self requirements, government laws and consequences of being intoxicated.” If I were his attorney, his defense would be,’as the President of the Chamber, my client is active in the creation of business opportunity for Police, ambulance services, funeral homes, coffin makers, the cremation societies, insurance companies, lawyers, estate sale companies, nursing homes, long-term care facilities, medical supply manufacturers, pharmacies, real estate firms, body shops, car dealers, junk yards and all other attendant biz that goes along with devastating injury, morbid injury and death from vehicular incidents.” Someone ought to tell this man about the drunk driver who killed himself and a family on February 17, 2017. In my neighborhood, members of my community. But as we know, the judge will let him off, just like the judge had done several times before Piotr murdered this family.

Judges should be accountable for when they go easy on habitual DUI offenders. If Randy kills someone because he is allowed to do this again, then how would this be explained to the family of the victims? At a minimum, he should never drive again……should have his license revoked permanently. This is shameful. Everyone should heed the words from Danni Smith…Smith is 100% correct.

I remember when Adam Brown supported Randy Peterson as his replacement for Illinois State Representative. This drunk Randy sure does make Adam look pretty stupid. Drunk Randy also makes his employer, White Construction Company, look very irresponsible to have their employee dangerously driving around drunk like this, and multiple times. I have zero respect and zero tolerance for this behavior.

Innocent unless proven guilty – but apparently there was sufficient probable cause to sustain the charge as indicated by the BAC result. It is beyond me how anyone drinks and drives, let alone after having previously been arrested for the offense. Never any mercy for a dui offender…treat them with respect – unless they will not allow it – but write them for every violation noted. They are a menace to everyone. It’s way past time that everyone acknowledge that fact.
