College of DuPage, DuPage County, feature

College of DuPage set to vote on new President on Monday -

BY JOHN KRAFT & KIRK ALLEN

ON April 29, 2016

College of DuPage (ECWd) -

The College of DuPage has scheduled a Special Meeting for Monday, May 2, 2016, and on the Agenda is:

Approval: Selection of College of DuPage President

Chairman Mazocci posted the following statement in relation to the search committee and Monday's meeting:

Message sent out today to our College Community:

Last month, the Board's Presidential Search Committee unanimously recommended three candidates to the Board of Trustees as Presidential Search finalists. The Committee's membership was designed to include a breadth and depth of experience; it drew upon the expertise of many College constituencies, including our students, full time faculty, adjunct faculty, classified staff, administration, and community. A record of their work... is here: http://www.cod.edu/presidential_search/. At that link, you can also provide feedback to the Board on each of the Presidential Candidates; the feedback is set to close at 5 p.m. today.

On Monday, the Board of Trustees will meet in SSC 2206 to make a final selection of our next College president. We have been moved by the thoughtful feedback the Board has received from all of our stakeholders. That input and Monday’s public comment period will guide our ultimate decision. Monday’s meeting offers each member of the Board a unique opportunity to discuss this weighty issue with their fellow Board members, and ultimately select a new President. We understand the importance of this issue to everyone at the College, and we will do our best to balance everyone's interests and choices to make a selection that will lead the College forward successfully into our 50th year.

Sincerely,
Deanne Mazzochi, Chairman, Board of Trustees
