PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –
Well, not in those exact words, but in his actions.
First off, the Prairie Press indicates it welcomes letters to the editor and columnists, but only asks columnists to demonstrate authority and knowledge thru information backed arguments. If they asked writers of letters to the editor to adhere to those standards, Mike Heltsley’s letter would have never been published. It reads like a wild-eyed drunken fool wrote it and hit the send button just before passing out.
Mike Heltsey is an Edgar County Board Member and an employee of Thompson-Thrift.
This will be part 1 of a series of short dispatches to ensure we hit all the points needing explanation.
We’ll start with the title of his masterpiece: “Heltsley: Watchdogs opinions are not law”
Wow. What wisdom!
For the record: We don’t state our opinions are law, but we do state our opinions of the law on certain subjects.
He then talks about what he thinks our agenda is. Which you can clearly see by clicking the “Contact Us” button, which will direct you to this page: https://edgarcountywatchdogs.com/about-us/ – which is clearly at the top of every page of our website.
Founded 2011 We are a group of concerned citizens.

There.
That is our agenda, and we do not care what side of the political isle you fall on.
