Your support makes it happen – Donations needed…

Edgar Co. (ECWd) –

As many of our readers know, we are making a difference.  The support from so many over the years is what helps in this fight to clean up our local governments. Currently there are 120 public officials/employees that have either fled or been pushed from public office because of our work, either directly or indirectly.

Currently we have 5 law suits at the Circuit Court level and 5 at the Appellate court level.  All of these cases involve denied access to public records or open meetings, and all of them cost money.  With continued support we have many more that could be filed as it appears the fastest way to put a stop to the corruption is court action.

With coverage spreading to a state wide level faster than we can keep up, we are confident we have become the go-to entity to expose public corruption.

It’s never comfortable asking for help but once again we need your support.  If you believe in what we are doing and see that it is having a positive effect we are asking for some financial support.  No amount is too small.

If you can donate to the cause simply click this link  for ways to donate or click on the RED “Donate Now” button below, or at the top right of pages.

And before those who appose our efforts chime in, please know that we have never taken any pay from our organization and have no plans to.  The funds collected go directly to cover expenses such as court costs, fuel, modest hotels, insurance, website, etc.

Each and every one has been written about and can be reviewed at your leisure.

That would take hours and hours. I am a supporter and I just thought you might have that list if you know the number. It would be interesting to see. This answer sounds like something a non-compliant public body would say.

I understand however there are reasons we do not publish the list as a single document. The biggest reason is as you pointed out. It would take hours and hours for us to link the articles to each name on the list because the list means little without the supporting article. In the future we may publish it but for now the board has decided not to. We have shared it in face to face meetings but we do not release a copy. If you would like to meet sometime and review the document I have no problem with that.

You said the names without supporting links wouldn’t make sense but you said we could meet so I can see it. What does it matter if I see it in person or electronically if either way there are no links? Also, what is the criteria for determining if you guys are the reason a public servant steps down or doesn’t run again? Do you ask them why? I only ask because if I am going to donate to an organization I would like to know these things and my friends would too here on this public, open and transparent forum.

By meeting I could explain each one. The criteria is simple. Did their departure have anything to do with our work. For example, Iroquois county supervisor of assessments was also the school board president. We exposed the conflict and he resigned his school board position. Some of those who left will naturally claim otherwise but the facts point to departures because of exposure. As far as knowing, I have provided you the means to address your concerns but you either dont want to spend the time or dont have the time to read the proof. We are open and transparent as the information is all publicly written about.

Can you post the list of 120 officials “pushed out” due to your work?
