Sublette Turbine Fire – Kimberly Watley VideoAs if the Sublette Fire Department and the other 80+teams of first responders weren’t busy enough performing welfare checks on people following last night’s tornado, this wind turbine fire call came in today too.

Posted at 09:29h, 24 JuneHow many times does this type of incident happen in this industry on average in a year in Illinois? Is it very rare or it happens frequently? Has this type of incident ever injured anyone or any private property? What caused this malfunction…man or nature? What problems are created when this type of incident happens? It seemed to be in an isolated area it happened in with no injuries/death or private property damage? Why such a reaction from a few people? What is the problem and how is the industry addressing these types of incidents?

Posted at 07:30h, 25 JuneSince much of what occurs is on private lands – information on bird kills, fires aren’t readily available. There is no transparancy. Much is claimed to be trade secret, etc. Unless a worker is killed where there is an Osha (sp) report I doubt you’ll find much.
