Edgar Co., IL. (ECWd) –
The monthly Edgar County Airport meeting was held last night, June 8, 2015.
Some of the items discussed was the mowing, work in progress on replacing some rotted wooden posts in the t-hangars, the fuel report (hardly any sold again this month), and a business expressing interest in leasing property.
During the long, grueling discussion of the mowing, Jerry Griffin, the airport manager that lied on his job application enabling him to steal the job from a highly qualified retired Army Chief Warrant Officer, stated that it takes ten days to mow everything that needs mowed, and then they start mowing everything again – however, later in the meeting, he contradicted himself by stating it takes three weeks. Par for the course…
Another item discussed was the receipt of T-hangar rent money, which, as Lisa Gill correctly pointed out, did not quite match what should have been received. She was also correct at their last meeting when correcting the notion a board member had that committee meetings did not need written minutes – they do.
Jeff Voigt talked about a company expressing interest in leasing airport property on a long term basis in order to build their own operating facilities.
