Clark Co. Park Director skirts own rental payments –

Clark Co., IL. (ECWd) –

When Freedom of Information Act requests were submitted for seasonal and annual campsite payments, the Executive Director retaliated by posting this offensive message on Facebook. She claimed it was to “alert” the campers that they should now somehow be scared of the FOIA requester.

Now more truth comes out as to the real reasons she did not want the information to become public. Once she was hired at the park district last fall, she quit paying for her own campsite – and only made up the payments after receiving the request for payment records and after posting that letter on facebook. (view payment records here) She never paid the late fees due when she finally made the overdue payments.

So, happy campers, it was nothing like she wanted you to think, for it now appears the sole purpose was to keep her own “missed” payments from becoming public knowledge.

By the way, she has not paid for this years’ campsite yet – and no, it is not part of her compensation package.

What does the Illinois Criminal Code say about these things?

(720 ILCS 5/12-6) (from Ch. 38, par. 12-6) Sec. 12-6. Intimidation. (a) A person commits intimidation when, …. or (6) Take action as a public official against anyone or anything,
(b) Sentence. Intimidation is a Class 3 felony for which an offender may be sentenced to a term of imprisonment of not less than 2 years and not more than 10 years. (Source: P.A. 96-1551, eff. 7-1-11.)

I would say the facebook posting, exposing the requesters to ridicule due to the actions of the executive director, constitutes “criminal intimidation”.
