COD Catherine Brod on short list with Maricopa Community College in Arizona

I suspect there is a lot of things that are going to point to a mass exodus being in play for COD officials dating back as far as 2011.  With the Breuder scandal finally growing legs it appears others saw the writing on the wall.

January 30th, 2015 Maricopa Community College in Arizona has named COD EEOC complaint recipient Catherine Brod as a finalist for the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Maricopa Community Colleges Foundation.  (Click here for EEOC complaint Article)

Something I missed in the Breduer contract extension letters was this statement: “As we discussed in the past, an alternative to extending the current Agreement is to modify that Agreement as attached and retire as President June 30, 2016.”  (Click here for copy of that letter)  (We have FOIA’d that document and will update when we receive it.)

So as early as 2011 Breuder has been talking of retiring and Brod’s hopes of running another College Foundation in Arizona came after the November 2014 retirement announcement of the sitting CEO.  They hope to have a replacement by May of 2015.  (Click here to MCC minutes)

A financial concern to the citizens of DuPage county may be of interest if Ms. Brod is selected as the next President and CEO of the Maricopa Community College Foundation.

Who will be on the hook for any expenses for travel that may take place pertaining to the EEOC complaint matter?  Will depositions be taken to prevent her having to return, or will the taxpayers once again be on the hook for future travel expense in order for her to provide any needed testimony?

We have reports of several others seeking employment elsewhere  but have not been able to get factual confirmation.  We will update as we are able to obtain documents to support the claims rolling in.
