DuPage Co. (ECWd) –
The Ferris Wheel never stops with Robert Breuder, current President of College of DuPage. The first exposure of the now famous “House Account Ten” (10) was in this article.
After reporting on those events, we continued to dig. A house account used by a COD employee has to have approval from someone, otherwise it may well constitute theft of public property, credit, or resources. We asked for a copy of the minutes where a “house account” was established and/or authorized for Dr. Breuder. Any guess of the response? (Click here for a copy of the FOIA response from COD)
“The college has no documents responsive to the request”
If there is no action taken to approve a house account for Robert Breuder, then under what authority can Breuder rack up bills at the Waterleaf? – bills that clearly involved his own personal food and drinks. Doing so without authorization would be considered theft by most organizations.
We also asked for a copy of any records authorizing Breuder to have the College of DuPage cover his hotel room expense at the Inn at the Water’s Edge. You guessed it!
“The college has no documents responsive to the request”
So once again, Breuder is expelling taxpayer funds without any authority to do so, which by all indications is a clear pattern with this guy and it needs to be addressed either by law enforcement or the Board of Trustees. Maybe it’s time for the faculty to turn all this information over to the COD Police investigators? The second they get this info handed to them, I suspect they would immediately turn it over to the Sheriff’s office or State Police as to avoid a conflict of interest.
The Board’s silence on these matters is deafening!
