Catastrophic Grain Bin Collapse West of Kansas, IL. -

UPDATE: More pics...

There was a catastrophic grain "barn" collapse just West of Kansas, IL. this afternoon.

NO injuries reported!

Will report more when we get it.

    Is this the one on north side that belongs to elevator. Glad there were no injuries.

    That is a storage building and it is west of Kansas on 16

    I wonder if the structure they were using is designed to store grain.

    A structure that was not built to properly store grain! It didn’t even have a liner on the inside so all the pressure was pushing out on the outside metal. Another federally funded project gone bad!

    Its just like anything else, use something long enough its gonna break! Id bet they’ve used that structure for yrs. No ones fault shit happens all we can do is help and learn from our mistakes as well as others. Just one opinion from the next. Stay safe!
