Fraud in Fuel Farm Grant Application? – Part 2 –

By John Kraft & Kirk Allen

On November 27, 2013

PARIS, IL. (ECWd) –

“The Edgar County Airport can no longer keep up with Jet A fuel demands of its based aircraft. The based users regularly use all Jet A in the existing 1,000 gallon tank and are forced to purchase fuel elsewhere.”

That is the next LIE on the alleged fraudulent grant application for the new 10,000 gallon tank and apron expansion. This document dated February 13, 2012 was signed by Jimmy Wells (airport manager) and Jim Keller (former county board chairman) attesting to its validity.

The truth is that a little over 4 years ago, the airport started using the existing 10,000 gallon tank for Jet A fuel, so the statement above is a complete fabrication of the facts. This, along with the previous article about the exagerated fuel usage is just another of the long list of examples of the lies and deception coming from the airport and its employees.

Please see the pictures below for proof of the existing 10,000 gallon tank being used for Jet A fuel – I took these pictures this morning – notice the big 10,000 tank is labeled “Jet A”.

Is this info being sent to the authorities, so they can see what bs is being sent to them that is fraudulent in nature. If there is a judgement against the airport won’t that money need to be repaid?

I nearly choke every time I hear about this 1 million dollar expansion to the airport fuel system–and this was before Rusty died. This gross exaggeration in fuel sales is insane plus Rusty bought most of the jet fuel. I have had many phone calls from pilots all over the US concerning this mess at the airport. One pilot exclaimed he was not about to fly over Edgar County let alone land at the Edgar County airport and fill with fuel from ANY of their tanks. Would this lead one to believe that ANY expansion to the fuel system would be necessary, let alone a 1 million dollar expansion????. I would suspect that at the present time they could possibly go back to the 1000 gal tank. I would love to see an HONEST list of the last 2 months sales.

For a while there, they were adding the rental income into the fuel sales to make it look like they sold more fuel than they actually sold.

If it turns out that somone actually does something legally about all the fraudulent grant paperwork that was sent in, could it come back on the county to pay any fines or judgements?
Is this one more way to cost our county money because of the deception by a few? Could there be a financial judgement due to the deceptive paperwork filed for the grant?

All the lies, all the deception, and a young man killed in an unexplained crash all makes me wonder what lengths people would go to, to cover up all of the corruption.
