Former Village of Tower Hill Treasurer Nancy Finley charged with Class X Felony – Theft over $100K

By Kirk Allen & John Kraft

On November 11, 2017

Shelby Co. (ECWd) –

The village of Tower Hill’s former Treasurer, Nancy Finley, has been charged with a Class X Felony for alleged theft of over $100,000.00.

Will this be another micro-example of Dixon Illinois where over $50,000,000 million was stolen, all while everyone claimed clean audits?

The village has a reported Revenue of $300,180.00.  Expenditures exceed revenues by $63,417 in 2016 with a debt load of $90,000.00.  $90K?  Is this one of those red flag numbers?  What are the odds that their actual debt is a perfectly round number?  This particular debt is for a Revenue Bond according to the filings with the Illinois Comptroller.

Bail was set at $50,000 on November 9th, 2017.  No plea has been entered as of the time of this report.

I live in the same town as this woman. It’s now August of 2019 and nothing has been done.

People try to bring this kind of stuff to light all the time but nothing gets done. Tried to get a fire chief in trouble for double dipping on taxpayers but nobody would listen. Even the county board didn’t care to even look into it.

There is a mental defect in those who think they will not get caught. Criminal defense attorney, here’s your criminal defense-“Not guilty due to mental defect”. Instead of jail, a locked psych ward for 30 years.

It just keeps getting worse and worse. No wonder people keep fighting transparency. Pealing the layers back just shows more and more corruption.

They always get by with it…for a while.
