Will County Electoral Board removes State’s Attorney Candidate from Ballot –

On June 22, 2020

Will County, IL. (ECWd) –

During the fourth day of the Will County Officers Electoral Board Hearing, on June 22, 2020, the Board upheld the objection to the Republican State’s Attorney Candidate and voted to not place the candidate’s name on the ballot for the upcoming general election.

The objection was based off of the allegation that the republican candidate voted on the democrat ballot in the 2020 primary election, but was later slated as a republican State’s Attorney candidate for the general election this fall.

Both the State’s Attorney and Circuit Clerk recused themselves from the Electoral Board. The Treasurer took the place of one of them, and , initially a Deputy Sheriff took the place of the other one. Later, the Electoral Board petitioned the Chief Judge to appoint a “public member” as a replacement (instead of the Deputy Sheriff). The “Acting Chief Judge” appointed Elected Will County recorder as the “public member” to the board. We question this appointment as the Election Code clearly states “public member.”

Great the ECWd in Will County. In action, has the appointment question been formatted for workings of the Judicial Inquiry Board as yet?
