Clark Co. (ECWd) –
Friday night, October 24, 2025, two U.S. citizens were killed in a head-on collision in Clark County, Illinois, just west of Westfield, IL. Two others were also injured in the accident. Michael and Gail Clayton of Charleston were pronounced dead on the scene. Michael was a Coles County Board member. We currently do not have the names of the other two injured who were taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.
According to Channel 3 News reporting, the State Police said a van with two people inside crossed the center line, hitting the truck. The driver of the van was cited for DUI and multiple other violations of the Illinois Vehicle Code.
What they did not disclose that we have now confirmed, the two in the van were illegal aliens.
It is our understanding the driver will be facing Vehicular Manslaughter charges, among others to include DUI. The passenger was detained at the Clark County Jail and later released into the hands of ICE.
