Former Oakland FPD Trustee Jerry Willison Trial Date Set –

Coles Co – (ECWd)

Today, we attended the case status hearing for Jerry Willison, former Oakland Fire Protection District Trustee and father of now convicted felon and former trustee Kiley Willison, who was sentenced last Friday as covered in this article.

Of interest in today’s hearing was the fact that the delay in setting a trial date appeared to be related to the son’s case, Kiley Willison.  The attorney for Jerry confirmed, now that sentencing has concluded in the other case, they are ready to set Jerry’s case for trial.

Some may wonder why the son’s case has anything to do with the father’s case being delayed.  We suspect, since Kiley refused to testify in his case prior to sentencing, now that sentencing is concluded, he can testify in his father’s case without any fear of further harm to his case.

What could the son possibly say that would help his father, maybe this?

‘My father had nothing to do with this. I was running all the books at the Fire Department, and neither my wife nor my dad had any idea the checks and other documents I asked them to sign were for anything other than legitimate Fire Department business.  They trusted that I was taking care of business properly.  I was guilty of stealing from the taxpayers and lying to my family for my own personal gain.  I admitted to the crime and have been sentenced to include full restitution.  My father had nothing to do with this.’

Remember, if it’s a jury trial, he only needs to convince 1 juror that he is not guilty.

Jerry’s case is set to go to trial on November 4, 2025.
