Shelby Co., Ill. (ECWd) –

After the Shelby County Board held a swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected and/or reelected county board members, there was another meeting for the new board to choose its chairman and vice-chairman.

Tad Mayhall won the vote for county board chairman, and Teresa Boehm won the vote for vice-chairman.

Boehm was indicted on January 25, 2024, by a Shelby County Grand Jury on two felony counts; Violation of the Public Officer Prohibited Activities Act and Unlawful Participation (see page 10) – both charges stem from holding statutorily conflicting offices. There have been two motions to dismiss filed by Boehm’s attorney, which have not been heard yet. This case is still working its way through the court system.

Should the indictments have different formats? Why is the spacing on the case number different on some?
Is there a reason some of the Clerk stamps are red and some are black?
True Bill is sometimes capitalized, sometimes not, sometimes underlined, sometimes has an A before it..
