DOLTON, IL., (ECWd) –
Former Dolton Police Chief, Robert Collins, filed suit in Cook County Circuit Court alleging the following against the Village of Dolton:
- Violations of the Illinois Municipal Code for Mayor Henyard’s improper termination of him by not seeking advice and consent of the Board of Trustees
- Violations of the Illinois Human Rights Act for Mayor Henyard’s unlawful discharge of him, alleging he was discharged simply because his wife was friendly with some individuals who Henyard believed to be political opponents of hers.
Collins is seeking lost wages and benefits, and an award in excess of $50,000 for emotional distress, plus interest.
